Briana riemer, M.D.

Briana Riemer MD joined the Center in 2022. She is a board certified Adult Psychiatrist who treats adults ages 18-60. Dr. Riemer has experience in treating a broad range of diagnoses and places a high value on treating each patient with a holistic approach. She specializes in the treatment of depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. She has particular interests in women’s health, addiction, and incorporating behavioral/lifestyle change, exercise, and nutrition in treatment.

Dr. Riemer received her undergraduate degree at The College of William and Mary, and her medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine in 2009. She completed her residency training at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt combined program in 2013.

After residency Dr. Riemer continued her work within the Sheppard Pratt health system. Her work was anchored in the Adult Crisis Stabilization inpatient psychiatric unit where she served as service chief at the end of her tenure. The unit focused on helping people in an acute crisis struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, psychosis, and trauma related disorders. Dr. Riemer gained particular expertise in treatment refractory mood disorders. She received additional training in electroconvulsive therapy and has extensive experience in performing and managing patients receiving this treatment. She has also been trained in transcranial magnetic stimulation. Additional experience includes work in crisis evaluation services, partial hospitalization programs, and psychiatric resident and medical student teaching.

Dr. Riemer lives locally with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and history.
